Donna is a macOS menu bar to-do app for people who forget things. Dismissing a reminder costs nothing and buys the task another day of being invisible — so Donna is built to make the dodge cost more than the task.
Snoozing buys silence, never amnesty.
The snooze menu shrinks every time you dodge.
⌥⇧Space. Type, ⌘⏎, gone.
What you dodge, when, and in your own words.
Statuses and estimates are claims with clocks. When one runs out, Donna asks: done?
Your stated why, quoted back at punt time.
Harvey only gets to be Harvey because Donna carries the rest.
I'd just finished Suits. I love Harvey and Mike, but the person I kept coming back to was Donna — the one who knows the room, holds every detail, and never lets the important thing slip. Harvey gets to walk in sharp and focused for exactly one reason: someone he trusts is holding everything else.
Meanwhile my own life has too many threads to trust my memory with, and every to-do app I tried let me dismiss a reminder for free — the task just went invisible again. So I built the assistant I actually needed and named it after her: Donna, the app, is inspired by that Donna. Real principles about getting shit done, no excuses, and a reminder that keeps coming back until the thing is true.
Donna is open source, in case you want one of your own — or want to help make the app sharper.
Every line of Donna — the ladder, the record, the voice — is native Swift you can read, audit, and build yourself. The repo goes public when the app ships.
github.com/liamlee2110/donnaAn app that isn't running can't nag you. Donna launches at login, lives in the menu bar, and never takes over your screen — it just never lets a commitment quietly disappear. Donna is Mac-only: no web app, no Windows build, nothing on your phone.
